The Limatus Experience
By Eleanora Morrison | June 2019
‘m an old, take-it-easy kind of soul who often feels like a fish out of water in our fast-paced, rather impersonal world. Of course, I appreciate the conveniences of modern-day advancements, but any time I am afforded an experience in which I can take my time to create something extra special in collaboration with others is one in which I relish. Time, attention to detail, a creative process, personalization, unparalleled customer service…these things used to be the norm in life, but today they are luxuries. One of the greatest luxuries I recently experienced was working with?Limatus?Bespoke to make my newest suit,?The Ellie.??
As a creative professional, my life and my career are both very outside-of-the-box. My personal life and my professional life are deeply intertwined, because my work is an extension of who I am as an individual and what?s inspiring my imagination in the moment. I don?t have a?separate?work wardrobe and home wardrobe, I have one that is comprehensive, and it has to suit every need from photoshoots, to client meetings, to special events, to production sets, to board rooms, and more. I needed a suit that showed some personality, that was authentic and individual, but that was also timeless and wearable year-round.??
Fashion and styling?is?a component of the work I do, and I?m very passionate about the art of it. I came to the?Limatus?Bespoke team with a specific design in mind, and they did everything within (and above and beyond) their power to bring it to life stylishly and sustainably. As much as the slow fashion process tests patience and gratification isn?t immediate, the process of seeing your pieces come to life is rewarding beyond measure.??
From the very first showroom visit, the attention to detail and thoughtful customer service captured my appreciation immediately. Served beverages of my choice upon arrival, I sipped my latte and my green juice while flipping through fabric books, touching each swatch and learning the history of its mill in Europe. I looked at buttons upon buttons, learned about stitching styles, I chose the font for the threading of my monogram inside of my suit paneling…all of this was beyond anything I had ever experienced, and was an education that I enjoyed every moment of. I had several fittings, and one of them was even in my home.

Working with Limatus Bespoke to create my ivory pinstripe suit has exposed me to a process filled with meaning, and I am proud to wear my custom pieces wherever I go. For me, The Ellie is a reminder of my roots. A reminder that I have come from generations of hard-working entrepreneurs who have built their own legacies from an inspired idea. My suit, also built over time from an inspired idea, is a physical metaphor for that journey and I wear it any time I need strength and connection to that special something much bigger than me.
